WEINBERGCENTER.ORGThe Weinberg Center for the Arts showcases a wide range of arts and educational programming in central Maryland, operating out of its historic 1926 movie palace as well as the New Spire Arts Stages. With the recent acquisition of the latter venue, the Weinberg team expressed a need to strategize on digital communications and update their website to help orient visitors, while enhancing the prominence of membership offerings and support opportunities.
The main components of our work have been to:
- Modernize the organization’s digital communications while bringing together the brands of two venues and celebrating their respective histories.
- Orient site visitors to the now multi-venue organization and make clear how to browse programming, purchase tickets, and ultimately arrive at either venue.

Modernize the organization’s digital communications while bringing together the brands of two venues and celebrating their respective histories.
- Provide a visually appealing, responsive design created for a mobile-first experience.
- Present multiple style tile options showcasing contemporary designs with branding that includes both venue logos.
- Provide a seamless, visually engaging user experience with consideration for user flow and adjustments to site navigation.
- Build flex content and templates that ease the client’s work in managing content updates.
Orient site visitors to the now multi-venue organization and make clear how to browse programming, purchase tickets, and ultimately arrive at either venue.
- Announce the new venue on the homepage, so visitors are immediately made aware.
- Create prominent venue tags to accompany all performance mentions, offering clear signals of which venue is housing each performance.
- Introduce color-coding to the performance calendar indicating the venue distinctions.
- Provide historical information and visiting instructions about each venue.
Simplify the process of purchasing tickets and memberships and making donations.
- Provide intuitive, clear paths for purchasing tickets and memberships, as well as to make donations; include cross-promotion opportunities for ticket buyers to become members or donate.
- Collaborate with the client in order to build a membership interface that is intuitive for patrons (including visual charts and concise forms) and easy to manage on the backend for the client.
- Update Spektrix functionality with the latest capabilities the platform offers, consulting on which make the most sense for the client’s needs/audience.
