The International Festival of Arts & Ideas in New Haven, CT is a comprehensive 15-day festival made up of more than 100 events that defy genre and expand innovative themes. Ranked among the top 100 event destinations in America, Arts & Ideas seeks to foster dialogue among artists and academics with an audience that totals nearly 100,000 per year. Eighty percent of the festival events are free to the public and most attendees spend nearly three times the national average visiting local stores, restaurants, museums, and galleries in the area.

Online Identities

Flyleaf created two award-winning website redesigns for Arts & Ideas to align with their missions of making the Festival more easily accessible, attracting new visitors, and making more noise in the community about their internationally acclaimed, thought-provoking programming.

 

Logo Evolutions

Known lovingly as the “bubble & squeak” between Arts & Ideas and the Flyleaf team, we decided in 2014 that Festival 20 was the time to literally insert the ampersand within the mark that wide-ranging audiences associate with “festival time” in New Haven. Growing with Arts & Ideas means continually embarking on fresh journeys that evolve their brand, and as a festival which defies categories and boundaries, Arts & Ideas is an institution that truly “lives within the ampersand.”

Marketing Strategy

Throughout the years as needed and In times of staff turnover, Flyleaf was able to take on a marketing and communications strategy role in which we devised plans for advertising including an expanded digital strategy, facilitated structures for analyzing sales data and optimizing outreach performance efforts, and organizing promotional elements such as branding guidelines, signage programs, and print deliverables.
